This is a new motor from SBT

This is my buddy's ski. I also have the Identical ski. Mine runs perfectly so we swapped CPS and ECU off my ski......Same exact problem still

    Checked all the fuses
Checked To make sure cam is spinning....it is
Checked wiring harness.....have continuity from plug to plug
reading 12V at the CPS plug

This is a brand new engine that has even been fired yet

    WTF!!!!!!

    Any input is GREATLY appreciated

Nevermind think we found the problem..........The Crankshaft position sensor has no OHM reading on the Multimeter.....

Didn't you swap it with the sensor from your ski? You'd don't have the plugs mixed up with something nearby? I can't remember if there is anything close that will fit.

    Flip the plug over 180

I swapped the CAPS sensor.....sorry wrong acronym earlier.....the cps is at the 7'oclock position under the motor...and is A PAIN IN THE ASS to get to without disassembling the back of the motor and lifting it...........so I'm not pulling the one off mine.....I ordered a replacement one today. CPS doesn't have a 12v wire the CAPS does.

    It only fits one way

Here's what I got to this point:

put the key in=2 beeps no problem

try to crank = gets a few REVS then the starter stops

try to crank with the throttle full = Continuously cranks but spits out code p0344

disconnect the crank sensor = Continuously cranks but spits out P0377

OHM check on CPS sensor = NOTHING = no reading at all.......This is the only thing I can find thats not right....shouldn't I have an OHM reading across that sensor???

Swapped CAM sensor with my RXTX (same exact year... mine runs perfect) = same P0344

Swapped ECU with mine = SAME P0344

Checked wiring harness continuity = 0.04 ohms basically no loss from plug to plug

    Timing chain is not broke

Could the cam being out of time cause that fault code????? I'm at loss other than the cps having no ohm reading

pretty sure this plug is identical to another sensor close by.. seen this before. cant remember what it was..

u should see some resistance. wire hasnt been broken has it?

It was the coolant temperature......that has the same plug as the cps......No its plugged in correctly

Now I'm leaning back towards the something with the CAPS being the problem.......I checked my RXTX's CPS and I don't get an ohm reading on that either so it may not be that.

To make life easier for everyone you need to stop using those acronyms and just say what you're checking. The fact that you have a cam position signal fault should indicate that the crank position sensor is working, otherwise the ecu wouldn't know that the motor is turning over to be able to log the cam sensor code.

You're right..........dammit........this is driving me nutz

pin 1 on the Cam position harness is a straight Ground? I guess

Pin 3 with key on I have 12Volts......OFF nothing

Pin 2 with key on I have 12volts.......Take the key off I still have 12volts for about 10 seconds then a relay clicks and it goes to 0......I guess thats the ecu powering down.

Trying to throw as much info in here as I can
