    EMM Repair

Has anyone dealt with emmrepair.com? He also has an ebay site. I'm looking at different options for my genesis and came across this. I have dealt with dfi and had them redo 2 for me over the years. I was satisfied with there repair in the long run but the first one took 8 months to get back to me. They made good on it tho. i'm thinking of trying this other guy and see how it works out. $400.00 shipped back to your door seems very competive. Any thoughts?

I saw that too. MAybe ask the guy what he does for 400 bucks. Does he just repair whats broken, or do they do updates as well like DFI does?

Is this related to a member on here who did some deep research into EMM repair. In particular how to transfer injector data in and out.

    Was that GhostInstallations?

Although I can program EMM's and re-purpose used injectors without the original disks, I don't do hardware EMM repair. I saw his ads as well and have been meaning to contact him to see what he does.

May I ask if anyone knows what the software updates do?
Or if anyone knows how to tell what software version I will have in the EMM?

    Cheers

My guess is that the updates are just the newer fuel maps that are found on the newer EMM's - I have no data to back up that assumption.

Only way to tell the version info that I am aware of is DigitalWrench.

And there are a few digital wrench setups for sale but for $300+!!!! I won't do enough with it to justify that.

There may be a time when you may really need the capabilities of DW, and without it the diagnostics may be time consuming or inconclusive

And DW might not be available for sale when that time comes, then what do you do?
