Cool Do it yourself service and warranty ??

Do it yourself service and warranty ??

Think of doing service myself just for the peace of mind knowing that is done properly.
I have read posts stating if you keep receipts ect of oil and parts warranty is covered.

What happens when you eg: throw a rod though the block ??

what do you say to get warranty??

and what do you say when they say no ??

How do you reset maintenance message ?? I have a Vtech maptunner box not sure if it can reset it ??

    Thanks in advance

In the United States, you can indeed perform your own maintenance and still be covered under the manufacturers warranty. This is federal law under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

With that said, not sure of your situation in Australia.

    Ouch...
Over $300 for a oil change and plugs..
I would really check into servicing it yourself..

And for anyone wondering, you can sort of do the plugs without getting the deck off 100%, but its just a lot easier to rip it off and go for it.

Buy your supplies from the dealer and do your own service. Really easy and just keep receipts and maintenance log for your records. Will have to have the dealer reset the maintenance alert though.

You could almost doooo 10 oil changes/services yourself for the price of 1 dealership trip...

I also noticed that on 9 out of 10 doos that were dealership serviced only that they were over full on oil by as much as 1 quart...
So for those of you who dooo bend over and go in for an oil change please check your oil after the servicing....
