Carrillo rods and made using better raw materials than Molnar.

Molnar rods are made in the far east and 'finished off' in the USA by Molnar.

Like many things from Asia, the quality is not always there, cheaper metal etc/

All that said, when I had a problem with a Molnar rod, Tom Molnar got involved personally and dealt with it very professionally.

Both are Good Rods Both Have been Proven, Carrillo has just seemed to be more established in the watercraft world

Stock rods are pently strong. They can take more than 20 psi. They are heavy tho.

Only time I have seen one break or damaged was either hydrolock or loss of oil pressure causing a big end failure.
