    GPR pump shoe RECALL

Does anyone have the recall number for the 2003 pump shoe/bolt problem? (where the bolts and brass stud break out of hull) My dealer is denying my claim- have talked to jim and seems to me that there is a recall out there. I need to get this fixed ASAP so any help is appreciated.

    THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

    Ben

Are you sure the recall hasnt been performed on your GPR yet? I believe that there is a black dot on the inside of the hull somewhere if it had been done.

well, i bought it a year ago it had 2.5 hours and now has 25. I was not informed that it had been done and this is the same dealer it was origianally purchased at. can you give more info on the dot? I can check for it. Is there an actual recall or is it just something they did as a convenience to customers?

it's an actual recall.the black marker dot should be near the vin # sticker on the inside left(looking from rear). I bought my 2003 used in fall of 2003 with 17 hours.i had a local dealer check the vin # to make sure it had the extended y.e.s warranty the seller claimed it had. The date the recall was performed was also on the computer.in order for the dealer to get paid by yamaha for the recall work, they have to notify yamaha its been completed, then yamaha will put the info in its computer base. any dealer that checks should be able to see it.

well, i thought carl might have some info for me but he won't answer. I've read that it was only the early 03 models that were built in 02... mine i think was built in march of 03.... had they fixed the problem in factory by then?

I dont know for sure when mine was built(month) i bought it in august 2003,the recall was done in june of 2003. I'd have to guess my ski was built somewhere between jan and april of 2003. But it did require the recall, I have the black dot. i'd take a pic of it but i dont keep my skis at my house here.theyre 30 min away.

Before i bought my 1300 in 2003.I stopped by the dealer i bought my boat from in 2001,theyre also a yamaha dealer.Im guessing this was around sometime in may or june. the mechanic had 2 1300s in the repair bay doing the recalls on both. i never heard so much cursing. yamaha shipped them the brackets and said "here fix these" with no instruction and a set "pay scale" for the repair. so needless to say, the dealers werent thrilled about doing the recall and wasting thier repair bay space, losing other better paying repairs. and im sure theyre still like that now with this same recall. Every dealer that sold the ski originally was supposed to call the customer. Im sure the loyal dealers did this. But how many loyal dealers have you met??? If you dont get the answer youre looking for through the dealer youre at now. go someplace else.or even call other dealers. One may do it hoping to get on your good side for a future buy.
