    2006 GP1300 Meter Assembly Question

    Hey guys,

My Meter assembly (speedometer, hours guage etc.) - it has condensation build up in it, water & foggy, it still works just really hard to read. I was wondering is this something I am able to take apart and clean it? If not, anyone have one for sale? Its for a 2006 gp1300.

I did a search and came up with nothing. Thanks in advance!

Technically cant really open it up. You can try putting it in a bag or tub with some silica bags to dry it out and then silicone it at the seam.
Homedepot sells silica bags in cleaner isle.

That was my fear, that I wasn't able to open it up. I figured if the water and condensation got in it... it probably needs to be re-sealed anyway.

Anyone has one available for sale, please let me know, unless another poster has a special way they figured out to fix this?

I've removed moisture from items like this by vacuum. If you have a container large enough to drop the entire gauge set in you can pull a good vacuum for an extended period of time, (day or so) and it will boil out the water. Problem is you may still have residue even after the moisture is gone. Quite honestly there seem to be a lot available on eBay at reasonable prices.

i havent seen any on ebay for the GP1300r. they are different from the 12... also what i have done, is take a hot needle, and i mean red hot. and puncture a hole at top left corner and bottm right corner. it helps ventelate and removes condensation...

There are none on eBay for a 2006. Mostly 2004 and prior. I'm scared to drill a hole in it, did you seal it back up after?

To be honest the display is so fogged and wet I almost dont care if I ruin it, I can barely see anything inside it.
