If the seal is ruined from belt bits, will this cause water to enter the hull?

this seal is only to stop water from INSIDE the hull getting to the bearing.......in theory a ride or 2 wont kill the bearing , but when you do change the outter seal I would do both seals to be sure..... and if you do ride thd ski the way it is and u get water inbthe hull you run the risk of getting water in to the bearing IF it gets past the other seal.....
My advise ids do it correctly then you never have to worry about it again
