anyone know how to check pump alignment, or is this a dealer only check/fix?

    thanks.

Since the MSX uses a different drive shaft and coupler method than all the other Polaris models, drive shaft alignment is tricky.

One method is to temporarily install a non-MSX driveshaft PTO coupler (what is used on all the other Polaris models) on the engine.
Loosen or remove the MSX through-hull bearing assembly.
Remove the impeller and stub shaft from the jet pump stator.
Then use the regular Polaris alignment tool to align the engine to the jet pump stator.

Remember that the jet pump defines the alignment. The engine is adjusted and shimmed to agree with the jet pump axis.

Finally the MSX through-hull bearing is positioned to support/align with the alignment tool and bolted in position. Now the jet pump and engine coupler should be in alignment, with the through-hull in agreement.

Polaris alignment tool specs (non-MSX version) can be found via my signature links.

And somewhere in the Polaris Tech section on here.

Might want to ask around whether any of the other UK Polaris members happen to have the tool.

I should mention that it is important on the MSX that the alignment be really close to perfect. The rubber spider coupler that the MSX uses does not tolerate misalignment between the two halves.

I had one that seemed close enough to correct (eyeballing it) but apparently was not close enough. The resulting vibration within the coupler, which I could barely hear and feel when riding, shook the seals and bearings right out of the MSX 140 through-hull assembly within a just couple of running hours!
