RIVA Free Flow Exhaust Kit -OR- DIY?

I'm not necessarily looking for performance gains or make my "bumblebee" 13 VXR crazy loud......I just want to make room for my RIVA storage bucket and thought I'd get some opinions.

RIVA kit or DIY? RIVA is pricey, but is a drop in kit sold on yamaha's website. DIY looks like it would be much cheaper, but could be made into an issue if I have a warranty claim?

If DIY, what are the pipe diameters I'm looking for? i.e. water box outlet (OD) and stock piece which exits hull (ID)?

    Thanks in advance guys.....

DIY is cheapest for sure. You need 3.5" diameter pipes

For bucket use all u need to do is delete small baffle at top of pipe. They sell plug/cap for a few bucks.

Do the TJ exhaust mod. You can get a pvc pipe end cap from Lowe's or a hardware store and remove the upper sound suppressor. Put in the pipe cap/plug and you are good to go. Your bucket will fit with the suppressor removed. No need to spend the big bucks.

Thanks guys! I like this solution much better. With a FF setup (RIVA or DIY) I too was a little concerned I was going to hate the resultant sound after reading others who'd done a FF setup. I'm gonna go with the TJ mod......

The only thing that sucks is these seats are heavy lol. I hate getting to my rear storage.
