Coming Soon to a Ski Near You: Weber MPE-850 Turbo Engine

Itís the subject of conversations happening all over the planet: Why arenít more manufacturers producing new standups? Besides Yamaha WaveRunnersí continual production of the same 701cc-powered two-stroke SuperJet that has remained practically untouched for nearly a decade, the only outlet for a new standup has come from the wellspring of new aftermarket hull and engine manufacturers.

Upstarts like Rick Roy Products, Bullett Racing, Hurricane Industries, Trinity Composites, XScream and Krash Industries have all made names for themselves by cranking out outstanding niche-specific machines, be them for racing, freeride or freestyle. But producing these skis en masse has faced two major challenges: demand and powertrain.

The Weber MPE750 engine in the Polaris MSX-150 model was not putting out 150HP.

There are aftermarket tunes for the 'Polaris' turbo Weber engine that push close to 200 HP so it seems possible for the MPE-850 to provide similar power.

Is this a drop in replacement ( motor mount locations ) for the MSX 110/150???

I know the electronics and harnesses would need to be changed out but this is awesome news. Maybe the other MSX hull in my backward could got back to being a weber powered polaris!!!

Wouldn't even guess under 5k. At which point you are looking at a pretty built up Seadoo motor.

Question: how much does a "pretty built-up Sea-Doo motor" weigh?
