    1998 GTX oil pump removal

I just bought a 1998 GTX , removed the oil pump, pre-mixed and blocked it off ,
But what to do with the two big hoses that goes to and from the oil tank ?

No it's a RAVE engine , i Always block off my engines ,is it not recommended to block off a RFI ?
They only put in RFI engines in the 1999 models and above if i'm not mistaken ?

I've never heard this in my life. The 951 isn't a rotary valve engine, it uses reeds

I did some research on google and it is indeed a RFI engine ,thanks Jim.
I just put back the oil pump and changed the oil lines ,only need to change the fuel to regular .
The manual told me that this engine has Mikuni BN carbs so i assumed that it was a regular carb engine , lesson learned and better take a closer look before assuming something

you MUST maintain lubrication to ANY rotary valve engine when the oil pump is blocked off. Good idea to loop the hoses after filling them all the way. this must be checked regular as any leak from the RV chamber to the crank will eventually lead to the drive gear failure and a HUGE mess ( and expensive too!)

Injection oil is used to lubricate the drive gear and it's bearings.

Yes i red that option too but in my opinion a risky modification so i chose to put the pump back on .

Ahhhh my bad guys, got ahead of myself here. I assumed it was a 98 Gtx limited 951. Wait, did they make a 98 Gtx Rfi?
