    Leaking ride plate?

Has anyone seen or heard of a ride plate leaking on the horizontal join, just above the drain plug?

It's only a slight leak, maybe a spoon full overnight, but enough to need to do something about.

is it possible to take the actual ride plate apart and re-seal the join? Or am I in for a new one?

Finally, is it a royal PITA job to swap out? Is it sealed to the underside of the hull? Or is it just bolt off, bolt on and re attach the coolant IN & OUT hoses?

You have gunk buildup around the plug which usually means a gauled thread that is leaking by some.

They're a large pain in the ass to remove and put back on. I would rather pull the engine.

Yeah, unscrew the plug first and take a look if the thread is in good condition(rebuilt if necesary) and put a new aluminium or copper washer.
If still get leaking, check the top screws.
