    2003 gtx 4tec sc

So my dad and I picked up a project ski. Got it really cheap. I mean real cheap. Previous owner said it was under water for a "few minutes". He cleared everything out but never fixed the water leak so he let the ski sit for about 3 years. Pulled engine to see what we are working with. Hee is what we found.

Cylinder walls look decent. Will be getting it honed and new rings. Looks better then we had expected. Looks like a good cleaning and freshen up is in order.

Good luck with the rebuild, Would like to tackle one myself someday. I hope you got it dirt cheap, moisture causes alot of problems with the electronics as well. Your in the right place though!

we did have it actually running before the tear down. just wasn't running strong due to lack of compression. we smoked the engine and found that we were losing all the compression through the rings. the head seem to be ok. all electronics seemed to be functioning 100%.
