Down rigging for salmon
I am thinking about trying my luck salmon fishing from my pwc. The water I would be fishing is ~100ft deep. My minimal fishing of salmon from charter boats indicates they don't always lay on the bottom so may not need to get quite that deep. My question would be with out an actual down rigger how are you guys getting deep without sacrificing feel by using a heavy weight attached to the line. Any help is appreciated.

Waterguy, there are several ways to get to the salmon. Although I am up here in the Pacific Northwest the methods are the same. I have mooched, used a deep six diver, and just used a mooching trolling rig. Here are the links to the setups that I use on the Puget Sound.
Hope this helps ya out.
