Thread: Exhaust filter

I have read a lot and would like to know when and or how to know if exhaust filter needs changed I have a 2011 and 2013 both fresh water only ... Just want to take good care of them and I only rec ride. I know there is a lot of info on this just of a lot of different pov.

Best advice would be it check it BEFORE it breaks up and goes into your water box ,every 40hrs or once a yr as your a rec rider in fresh water.... heat from hard riding and salt water will usually destroy the filament sooner....
What you will be looking for in examining the condition are the two welded points and the honeycomb condition in between that it is intact,a little rust is ok...

Replace it every 50 hours. Don't worry about inspecting it, it's a waste of time.
