Im no engine expert but what I think is NEVER reuse stretch bolts. I personally wouldn't reuse rod , flywheel or cam gear bolts . And for the small price of bearings replace them while you're in there. If it throws a leg out of bed , blocks and cranks are expensive .

Why would you ever want to reuse any bolts that are vital to your engine...IF you have it apart then i would replace all that stuff, cutting corners will only cost you more in the long run...

It is not apart as of yet i wanted to lighten my flywheel but was told to bring the rod to balance as a set or leave the rod alone and make a shaft to balance the flywheel alone. any feed back on

Absolutely not. Rod bearings are sensitive enough without chancing a stupid stretch bolt. Ever see what happens when you get slop in a rod cap? It will come off then the rod goes anywhere it wants and you can kiss that engine goodbye
