    What is this? Please Help!

I just installed 2 new Galvanized Hubs on my Karavan trailer. I noticed that on the back of the hubs their is a notch cut out on the hub. Anybody now why the hubs are made with this notch in them? The stock hubs did not have this notch in them. I was worried that water could sit between the inside of the rim and the hub. Thanks for any info...Here is a pic of what i'm talking about.

Balancing, nothing to worry about, it does not make your hub weaker.

You`ll get water between the hub and wheel rim anyways, the fitment is not that tight...PR...
