There is a yellowish oily substance that was sprayed onto the throttle body of my 2007 RXT before i bought it. i love this because it protects and doesnt come off even after multiple spray downs with the hose, and i can always see that its on there unlike fluid film or wd40. i thought it was XPS lube so i bought some and that wasn't it. the XPS lube i have is more a liquid like wd40, it doesn't leave a protective visible residue.

if anyone knows please do tell!

Try LPS 1. Leaves a tacky recidue. Use LPS 3 on the LPS 1 to remove.

Maybe it's spray lithium grease. I've used this around the exterior pump area, below the waterline and it sticks like sh1t!

I think you may have gotten those mixed up. LPS3 leaves a waxy residue, mostly used for corrosion protection and LPS1 is a greaseless lube, similar to WD40 but it won't attract dirt and grime.
