looking for a lake in texas that has....
a few things..
camping - with a cabin (family)
decent water levels - asking a lot on this i know
dogs allowed - this will narrow it down im sure
a beach front or soft sand area - this one is the MOST important. as i want to take my family with me. i want to be able to beach the ski (yes i do this carefully) or anchor it a little bit out.
i have been going through the parks and wildlife site but cant seem to find 4/4 or even 3/4 so i figured i would ask here.
i want my daughter to be able to enjoy the water and then go with me on the ski without having to walk a mile to get it. i can only teach her so much sitting on it in the garage.

Lake Sam Rayburn on the southside of the lake has what your looking for. Look for a a place off of HWY 255, Sam Rayburn Resort, Westwood, or Rayburn Country.

Any ways try this one on Lake Livingston. I lived right outside Onalaska on this lake as well. It's pretty nice as well.
If not that one you can always try Possum Kingdom Lake. It's west of Dallas and has Alot of cool stuff to do. There is hells gate and a cove of some sort. Haven't been there since I was a freshman, but it is awesome.

@97GPSLEEPER - this sounds very promising. I will check it out shortly.
@BJ - checking out that link as well.
Making a weekend is what I think we will do so a drive is not an issue.

so my wife found a place in kemp texas that has everything and its small. only 4 cabins. she emailed them to make sure they dont have an issue with skis and i wouldnt think they would since they have a boat ramp and its dog friendly. will cost about $200 for the total time we will be there and i can live with that.
edit: i cant for the life of me remember the name. will have to get it at work if anyone is interested.

I think that's Cedar Creek, never been but have a friend with a weekend place there that loves it. Should be a good time. Another option is Inks lake, its smaller, but mostly state park (one of my favorites). Lots of the campsites are waterfront with an easy beach option. Lake LBJ is another larger lake. both are constant level as opposed to Travis, so you know what you are getting. Just don't know about dogs at either.
