You certainly want to drain the gas and oil before inverting the hull.

Worried about the carbs? Have the carburetors been rebuilt in recent memory?

When the hull is upside down there is stress on the engine mounts. Most guys take the engine out before turning the hull over. Not only does this reduce the weight, it gives you a chance to properly clean the interior of the hull.

And sort of forces you to actually inspect everything, since you have it all apart!

These hulls are painted, not gel coat. They are SMC. I hope you used epoxy resin to do the repairs. If you used polyester resin it WILL fail.

Just had mine propped up on its side while I sanded the hull. A pair of old needle nose from previous owner found its way out from somewhere in there too, lol

Drain fuel and oil, as K447 suggested.

Take out battery, especially if its acid filled or vented.

Check motor mounts before you roll/flip it or you will regret it when the engine comes out on the floor and a jug or case cracks from impact while the stator harness rips out of the stator or the electrical box.
