First ride of season, lost propulsion power need help, newbe

Bought a used 2008 rxpx, w/ stage 1 riva, took it in the delaware river near philly today, starts up strong got it all the way to the mouth of river, opened her up, ran strong, super strong!! Rode wide open throttle and it was great, next thing i know, feels like the motor is shaking then at or around 3000rpm the motor revs up but there is little to no propulsion. Im new to the pwc scene, i have mechanical skills so help me please, let me know what i need to look for and/or fix thank guys, what could be causing this ?
    Thanks again

Thats what i saw inside the rear net area, i pulled it out, not sure what it might be, little to big to be a bottle cap of some sort

I had a wood chip the size of what come out of a chainsaw wedge between the wear ring and prop.. and it cause the same issue.. yes something that small can cause that issue..
