hello sea doo experts
trying to help a friend with 2012 sea doo 4 tec with ibr onboard, sometimes the reverse does not engage, not showing the R symbol on the dash. Forward is good, pull the lever once and it goes on neutral , keep pulling the lever and ski does not go on reverse like supposed to, instead it throws a message on display : ibr module defective or something like that.
have you experienced problems like that on your skis? I checked all electric connections, they all look good, no corrosion , still some grease in electric plugs.
when I connect my sbt diagnostic system, code c2321 and c2335 keep coming back even after reset.
any idea where it could come from ?

if you have something caught up in the ibr or the nozzle area this will happen.
make sure everything looks good in the pump area.

Not sure what model you have but on my GTR the fuse was loose and never seated tight from the factory causing my IBR issues.

it is a sea doo gti and I spent some time online to search about that before posting here and I already checked for loose or broken fuse box, loose or corroded fuses, checked the electric plugs to the ibr motor on the back (known for corroding) checked all grounds, swapped ecm and dess key with another good known one, still no change, works, does not several times then works again one time ..
I checked the reverse gate for anything blocking, even removed the gate and steering nozzle to eliminate any stiff component, still no luck.
it seems like a lots of early models had ibr motor problems , right?

Check for ibr updates ,.....,if with the updates still fails you must replace the ibr.

what do you call ibr update? could not find anything good.
today I tried again, worked fine 2 times and did it again so I decided to swap ibr switch at the handlebar, pretty easy, still de same, no difference.
next I tried to override the ibr to close the gate all the way to simulate reverse on the 2 skis that I have, a good ski would go on reverse all the way and cancel the overriding and go back to normal when engine is restarted, the bad ski went on reverse by overriding but would buzz and throw default code at the dash when engine is restarted, the dashboard does not even cycle like it should do, direct buzz and display (defective ibr module )
so I really think it is the ibr module that is defective

An iBR update is a software/programming update that most people have done at the dealership.
