Connection of LED to read polaris ficht

i have read your detailed explanation how to prepare a Led to read the EMM code and i have 2 general questions:
    1. The Led should be connected to pin 2 and 4 in the display connector. This is the. Connection of the "check engine", if this is the case, why the check engine light is not flashing? Why we need the LED?

    2. The MSX display plug is hard to reach, can i connect the LED on the 48 pin EMM connector without disconnecting the display?

    see attached schematic

The reason the LED tool is needed is that the display's internal LED flashes all the time whenever a warning is showing. The flashing rate of the internal red warning LED is constant whenever the check engine signal is sent from the EMM.

This is true of all Polaris digital displays, MFD, MFI, NGI. Even on the carburetor engines.

The simple code reading LED is a regular non-flashing LED so the flash interval and number of flashes is controlled by the EMM itself. This allows the EMM in code display mode to control the flashing and indicate the code pattern on the LED tool.

The 12-pin connector behind the NGI display on the MSX is hard to reach. Near the hood hinge at the front of the MSX storage area are two smaller connectors. You can unplug these two connectors and then connect the LED tool to the correct wires for code reading.
