Hmmm...what is this under my footwell mats on my Ultra 300?

While removing my mats to upgrade to the more rigid diamond cut pattern of the 310 I came across this imprint in the SMC fiberglass , there are two in each side ,one towards the back one toward the front...

    Lets play Detective...
what is it and how and why did it get there?

I definitely have my theory but want to hear everyone's thoughts...

    OK...

In the factory along the assembly line Robots today are used like for cars ,MCs, and PWC.
These Robots use high compressed suction cups on their arms to lift the upper portion of the hull and position it for painting and and lifted to be mated to the lower hull...

The SMC/ fiberglass is probably still soft and these cups leave sort of a dent or impression on the upper hull,Kawasaki inspectors figure it's no big deal since the Mats will cover them...

If you watch "how PWCs are made" or Ultra 300 factory video you can see how imprint would happen...

    Just my guess

I can guarantee that the fiberglass isn't that soft when they pick it up.

I suspect it's on the mold for the top piece of the hull, but don't know what it is.

    I agree with steve45,

the glass is dry enough to move otherwise it would sag and distort...........its in the mould I say
