    Brand New Bust??

Was out riding the beautiful intercoastal in Miami yesterday and ran across this family on a brand new (2 days old) matching pair of gti limited 155's. They called me over cause EACH machine could only go about 15-20 mph due to what appears to be extremes cavitation. They would hit the throttle hard, engine would respond but the propulsion would not and BOTH machines did this.

No matter how hard they laid on the throttle they would only get a small response for the pump. Sounded like massive slipping. Told the I'd greenhulk it & see what ya'll think. Of course they have warranty and I advised the to march 'me right on back down to the dealership. Brand new though???

My GTR had a similar problem. Sometimes it'd cavitate something ferocious and not go; sometimes it would cavitate for a second, them go, other times it would act almost normal.

Turned out to be a busted pumpshoe.

Theres pictures around here somewhere(greenhulk) unfortunately I deleted them from my 'puter.

The shoe was in slightly better shape before it was removed, but you'll get the proper impression when you go look/read.

    ...hope this helps

My guess would be they both sucked up some shallow debris. Rocks, sticks, seaweed etc. will all created the event you are describing.

IF they are brand new with less than 5 hrs this could be the Engine Management System assuring a proper break in thru the first five hrs or so.. my brand new GTR 215 is doing this right now.. just a thought...
