    Thank goodness for a bilge!

    Well glad I added that;

    was out on the ski with my wife and some other friends in another boat. We were docked up at a beach and decided to get out my seadoo evo1 (fancy tube) and give it a shot. I had a small pump with battery clamps on them.

    Popped the the rear cover off my 13 rxt-x and hooked the clamps on and turned on the pump. Airing up the tube I guess one of us was leaning on it and water came over into the ski battery area (lid was off) long story short no one seen the water until my auto bilge kicked on and started shooting out water!

    Thankfully water only made it to the very bottom area of the motor and the bilge did it's job. We made sure we got all the water out. Ski never missed a beat thankfully but this could have been disastrous with about 30 more seconds and no bilge.

    That rear cover makes a bilge even more important to have in my opinion... pop that lid and lean the wrong direction and your ski is underwater fast without a bilge.
    Good story...

    even with the covers closed alot of water goes over them at any speed. This concerned me from the get go.

    Was this a self inflicted issue? 110%

    but it goes to show you and me how easy you can have a problem, and in this case how easy it was to be fixed versus a damaged ski potentially.
