Thread: Nav for '13 FZS

    Nav for '13 FZS

Does anyone have a nav setup on an 09-13 FZS/FZR? Seadoo used to have the replaceable glovebox cover, but can't seem to find similar for the FZ. I could go the RAM-mount method, but would prefer something really slick like the glovebox mount.

I just put Velcro on the back of my Garmin and on the glove box. It's worked for about 4 years now. I think I replaced the Velcro once. The Garmin has a long lanyard that I put around the handlebar just in case.

Since I am getting a chart plotter to use in my Raptor for off roading I plan on getting a glove box lid that I can cut up and mount the plotter to as well. This way I can get more use out of it and would be helpful for runs to Bahamas and such.

FWIW: I've got the glove box lid designed for the Garmin 76 model. While it was a great idea on paper, and I still use it all the time, I think it's an unsafe setup: I admit it was my first year of PWCing ('06 RXT), it takes your eyes off the water. Looking back - and forward - I think Kawi's "in handlebar" mount is much safer as your eyes are much more nearer your direction of travel. I think my next PWC purchase - whenever/whatever that is - will include a handlebar Ram mount of some kind so that my GPS observation will keep my sight nearer the direction of travel.

Obviously, if you take a look at my sig. below, I do a lot of GPSing while on the water. This is my 2 cents based on real world experience. Good luck w/your set up and I'd be interested in your feedback whichever way you decide to go.

You might be able to use something like this, depending on what Nav you have.

Garmin Etrex Venture HC color with RAM mount. These are the best mounts you can buy.

I think it is this mount: http://www.rammount.com/CatalogResul...5/Default.aspx

But you will also need to buy the RAM backing plate: http://www.rammount.com/CatalogResul...5/Default.aspx
