2004 RXP First of Day Oil Alarm
Ok, my 04 RXP seems to need 5-8 minutes of idle and warm up before it will run WOT without the oil alarm and going into limp mode. We saw this some last season, fresh oil change and filter, oil middle of the dent on the dip stick. Once I get it "Happy" it never does it again the rest of the day, normal?
There is no indication that it ever had a SC failure, we changed the SC when we bought it from the first owner and it had the original SC intact, dealer was very familiar with the ski, had all the service history on it.
All those wiser than me....thoughts?

I've had that happen on a few occasions...Warm it up for about 3 minutes, then cruise slowly for 2-3...I never push it right from the start, always cruise for 20 minutes before I give it a good WOT pull to make sure its good to go...

What oil are you running and what is the temperature? Perhaps it's an alarm as a result of high oil pressure?

How's the oil level ? Have you replaced the oil pressure sensors ?

Had something similar and it was the oil pressure sensors. Ended up replacing both of them..

Oil level is middle of the dent. Running OEM oil (I bought the maintenance kits)
Temperature, lake is about 60 right now, air temp last weekend was 70, but I did have it happen
a few times last year when it was 85-90 outside.

Oil pressure switch. When I first got my RXT I had the same problem. it had the wrong OPS in it. I changed both the OPS and OSPS, no more problems. Just check yours to see if it is a normally open or normally closed switch. They are different depending on the year.
