Compared to the earlief style..... the starts on the new filter are NOT as clean..
I noticed it straight away.....but it never causes an issue.

    All I know is.
When Waz rebuilt my motor. He put the original filter in.
in 80 plus hours. I have never had any starting issues.
I got a slight lumpy start, so I checked the filter. And it was still in but had lost about 5-10 percent of the honey cone.
The new one has a large hole in the middle.
Honesty it may as well not even be in there.
so now $200.00 later and 2 hours of my time.
Im right back to where I was before the new motor.
    My starting is not lumpy.
I float around the ocean attempting to start the pos.

    I tell you what.
Kawasaki has taken two steps forward, the one step back.

    on another note.
    I rode with 3 300x 2013's this weekend.
All three riders are discusted in the 300.
Something about pump seals leaking, blown oil lines.
They all said they through the scom away.
I haven't heard such negative feed back like that since the 260 came out.

    im not happy.

You sure they know what they are talking about brett. Maybe its just the owners with negative issues. Pump seals dont leak and there are no oil lines.

will I get a third go out of the exhaust and 2 filter gaskets????
the black coating had come off in several places.
I have been using 3 bond.
I am going to have to purchase the over priced old filter.
I am not leaving the new one in.

Brett, for what it's worth, the new filter didn't work as well in the 2011 but does work better in the 2013. Maybe the '13 has slightly better compression so it starts easier. Worth checking your compression too.

Give it a rev or two before you shut it down, this will help a bit.
