loose steering column
i noticed that my handlebars can rock side to side, upon closer inspection I noticed that the steering column seems loose, allowing for play. everything feels tight, has anyone else noticed loose and weak feeling?

Oh, yeah- plenty of people have that problem. Do a search: I think I remember someone posting how you can fix it.

Pull the cover, The black cover around the base has these little black inserts that have to be pried out.
pull the bar holder( steering stem) 4 bolts,
take off the nut and remove the plate,
take out the 2 allens in the adjuster, turn it about 3 holes and put it back together.

Here's a pic of the adjustment collar in case anyone needs a visual. When I did mine today I measured the bushing and its 23mm ID x 30mm OD. I found a manufacturer who makes a needle bearing in this size. I will be making some calls tomorrow to see if I can find some to order.
