    Genesis fuel issue

I have genesis 1200 di I got the emm fixed and it runs good for a few minutes and then trips the fuel relay and dies so I pulled the fuel pump and found the regulator fell off in to the tank, would this cause the relay to trip like that?

Fuel relay? Are you saying the circuit breaker 'Reset Button' pops up and kills power to the fuel pump?

    What year Genesis?

Yes the fuel relay pops out and quits running, then you can reset the relay and it will fire up and take off again. I'm not sure about the year I can look later. Thanks for your help.

Is not a relay. Is circuit breaker.

Either the fuel pump is drawing too much electrical current (Amps) or the circuit breaker is faulty.

If you have a ten amp range multi-meter then you can connect the meter in place of the circuit breaker. Start the engine (dry, on land is OK) and monitor the amps used by the fuel pump. It should be under five amps and constant.

If fuel pump amp draw is normal then I suggest replace the circuit breaker. Elsewhere on here I have posted the part numbers and alternate sources, such as DigiKey.

Could this be caused by the fuel pressure regulator in the tank not being on the fuel return line?

    No, not directly related.

Coincidence, since the fuel pump electrical draw is not hugely increased from running without a pressure regulator.
