I have been curious. The beast answered.

Since I got the 300 I have been curious about what kind of performance can be gotten out of a 300 without an SCOM and only turning 7500. Well with only bolt ons and the limiter kicking in and only running 7500 the ski is capable of running in the 70s. It was outrunning another 300 with an scom and several other modified skis down here for Mudbug and the hydrodrags. Engine is 100% stock. I only found this out because putting my ski back together after the offseason work I forgot to connect the scom to the battery. Everyone I was riding with was saying how fast the Beast is. I was just smiling to myself because the rest of this weekend I now have the scom connected. Pretty sure I will be able to go with an even taller prop. I know I am not sharing much but this 2011 Kawasaki Ultra 300x just made me fall in love with it all over again.

I will say this. The speedo wheel was not connected to the ecu so it did not know the speed to find out if it would have dropped the rpm more. All that code does is limit the ski to 7500.

I got an override in my red one but haven't had a speedo in the plate since the day I bought it. Have fun out there this weekend! !

Thanks mike. That was my only concern with not having the scom with no speedo. My logic was with no speedo it would not get the erratic signals like with washers so it should be safe getting the speeds I was getting while still being limited. I don't know my exact speed since I didn't have my GPS but I was running with another 300 I was involved with turning 8000+.

If you don't mind sharing, What do you have to do to it to break 70 limited?

If I remember right it was around. 7600. I only spent a few days on it and it was a while back.

Plate, grate, remove the speedo wheel, lucky 13 pump cone, custom pitched Solas, pump wedge.

The biggest thing is getting the wheel out the picture then making the changes to get the best performance at 7500. This ski is right under 300hp at that rpm so no reason not to make it work.
Add the parts that give the ski the best speeds then play with impellers to get it where you are getting everything at that rpm. Slower out the hole but still will beat most skis and your speed is there while not adding the wear of the higher rpm. YOU WILL HAVE A CODE. It is just the speed sensor code. I just silenced it and had my fun. I did not do any long term testing but I do know others as Mike did and have not had an issue removing the paddle wheel.
