    Fzr 2009 - - best piston kit ??

    Hi everyone...
    yesterday....
something not good happened to my baby...
rpm slow down from 8100 to 7500...
and the sky start run ... 'strange'...
I think... one piston... or ring... has gone...
    i will test cylinder compression
    so...
i think i have to rebuild the engine...
which piston kit are the best on the market?
i already have in my garage...
carrillo rods and r&d single valve train kit ready to install

so.... what do I have to buy for my setup (see signature)

    thanks ...
    Ale

One thing i noticed that was not on your mod list was a tunnel reinforcement job. The FZR were notorious for cracking them, I would suggest looking into making one, or buying one soon. A lot easier to do with motor out of the ski too.

yeah, or bump upto 9.5/1 and tune it to higher compression, depends on the quality of fuel y'all get there. stock compression is great if your just upgrading to forged pistons

Wow you need to do a better job checking your A/F readings I cannot believe you blow motor that fast.

If you are using the old Athena, then you can add yourself to a list of people who blew their engines with the old version and original maps. I am on that list as well. Few people warned you about this in your other thread where you were asking about running a stage 3 setup on stock ecu. As far as pistons go, CP pistons would be more reliable in my opinion since they don't expand as much as the wiseco pistons.
