03 RX DI going into "maintenance mode"

Last summer I had an intermediate problem with the Seadoo going into "maintenance mode" . I would then shut down, pull the dess and the problem would fix it self. This year it's showing "maintenance mode" after 5 secs and it won't go away. I know these things are loaded with sensors but does this problem sound familiar to anyone with DI experience? I did check fuel pressure, 104 psi, so we can rule that out and it doesn't say "low voltage" so probably not the rectifier. I know I should hook it up to candoo or the like but I am on a strict budget this summer so trial and error is my only option.

some times a dealer will not charge you to reset the Maintenance code, but would not be more then $20 but this will solve your issue I beleive.

I fixed a 2002 the other day where the contacts to the water box temp sensor were loose-- fixing this turned off my maintance light.

trial and error could end up costing you far more then a candoo session at a local shop.

    you need to go twice.

first time to reset all the codes stored, and then back again after the maint lamp come on so you can se what the current code is.

you can spend a whole bunch of time going over every single connection on the ski, with no assurance it's not a sensor being out of range.

for a do-it yourselfer, I get $50 for a code clear and a follow up read.

I'm sure you can find a shop that will help you out, after all $50 is $50 right? ( bring a 6 pack for a tip)

otherwise be prepared to chase your tail unless you get very very lucky.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I just found out I won't be able to work on the Ski until next week anyways so for now I can only listen.

IF...it's just a maintenance interval reminder you can reset it by holding the "set" button for at least 2 seconds. If it returns shortly then there is a fault stored in memory that needs to be examined, problem fixed, and fault codes cleared by BUDS system.

You should also do whatever maintenance it's time for. Maybe cleaning RAVE valves or changing pump oil or possibly new fuel filters.
