    2014 RXP-X260 vs Yamaha FZS

Just picked up the new 2014 x260 and almost through the 5 hour break-in! My brother decided to go for the new FZS and the race is on. He is seeing 70+ stock on GPS, while mine is still limited with break-in. I ordered the stage 2 Riva kit and will be installing after 5 hours. Anyone currently running the stage 2 kit? What speeds are you guys seeing? I've read the threads and know the skis are completely different in almost every way, but I think the Stage 2 kit will level the playing field a bit

Sweet ride! That Yamalog will be no where near you when the water gets rough

Do some research before pulling the trigger on that Athena ecu. There are better, and cheaper options out there that actually work properly.

We ran a 2014 FZR on our lake agenst my new RXPX as well.
My seadoo had the yam out of the hole but the yam took me on top end by about 2mph.
Cant fault the engine in the Yam it pulls like a mother but nothing beats the RXP on handling

Do a lot of reading on here before you order all your stuff (hopefully you can stop your order). Athena ECU has been a nightmare for most. Much better off going Motec if you really want it all or Vtech.

You'll then know what works and what doesn't. Bad news is good luck keeping up with him. A simple tune for him and upgraded cooling system and he can pull 80MPH all day. You'll spend thousands to hit 80MPH. Rough water he'll have a hard time keeping up with you. But for about 2.5K you can hit 75-78 MPH with out much problem.

If the top end is supposed to be limited by the Coast Guard, how does the Yamaha get away with going 70+ stock? I'm already dreading starting over with my new P-X after my 08 runs 77. Just seemed like it was time for a new machine.

Because it never really was written in stone. It was basically a hand shake understanding that if they limit them to 67-68MPH that will be it. If they didn't I'm assuming they'd make life rough on the manufactures.
