Salt covering everything in under the seat after riding

I just bought an 08 RXTX in south florida and went for a ride saturday after cleaning it up really well.. when I got home and started cleaning it after the ride I took the seats off to check the oil and was really surprised as to how much salt was covering everything in the engine area! The plugs were in during the ride and there wasn't any water in the hull (maybe damp in the corners), is this normal?

I was out for about 3 hours getting to know the ski in the inlet

From what I remember when living down in Florida and riding, you get some water in the hull anyway...its when the heat of the motor makes the water evaporate, which leaves salt crystals behind...Thats why you needs to wash up the inside with water, then spray with WD40 or fluid film...Focus on the electrical connections when doing it.

It is the holes in the seat bottom. Once the seat foam gets wet every time your butt bounces on the seat, it squeezes salt water out of the seat and drips on to the engine.

You need to wrap the seat foam in plastic.

My 2010 RXTX does this and it's inexcusable. My 2008 RXPX didn't. and I've subbed on that RXPX so bad that my buddy could't even see me under the water. I love this RXTX, and it's had a lot of problems but it leaks through the steering, the seat and the two back access panels.

Other than washing the hull with soap/water and flushing after use in salt, what else should I do? Dielectric grease on electrics under the seat? More frequent oil changes?

I throw a 5 gallon bucket of soapy water in the engine bay and and rinse and drain thoroughly. Let it dry until the next ride but hose it down with XPS in there to repel the water.

Ive found that water will leak from the seat on the engines. Its the steaming of the liquid while running that is leaving the residue. Pain in my ass too.
