2010 Yamaha FX HO Battery / Security Question

Do the key fobs remain paired to the ski if you disconnect the battery for long-term storage and reinstall the battery at a later date?

I'm unclear if the security system stores the key fob code(s) in non-volatile memory (EEPROM) or volatile memory which would need the 12V to be present...

    Thanks,
    Barry
