R4 has about 150rpm on the R3 they are both roughly the same afr wise just more timing advance.i would of thought you where 85+ long time ago with a turbo ?

Personally I love my R4. I am running same speeds and maybe even a tad faster with my R4 over my R6 with VP-MS109 Race fuel.

I am thinking of upgrade to a R4 too, so the R4 is 150rpms over the R3. But acceleretion is kind of the same or better?

How much more timing is in the r4 then the r3 I do not want to run race fuel, I'm running 93 octane with the ET18 I have an r8 which I'm thinking about trying out too

I didnt do a back to back and I didnt run my current pump setup with my R3 to compare the R3 to the R4, but I went from my R6 race tune running race fuel to my R4 and 93 pump gas and my acceleration seemed to be better and I actually seemed to spin my 14 vein pump harder and more rpm. So I say R4 is a great ECU.

I dont know the specifics, but I can tell you it has to be quite a bit more aggressive to be running what I am now verses what I ran with my R3. According to Glen at R&D he said the R3 can be held WOT all day, but the R4 is recommended to only be held WOT for about 1/2 to 1 mile increments. So far with my setup I havent had any issues and running on 93 octane at 9100 rpm.

it is faster but if you already have an R3 just add more boost instead.R2 R4 and V3 will all be faster than the R3 tested back to back.athena is about twice as fast but ive seen engines run too hot with it so its never made its way on my boat.ive got a stock SHO ecu id part with but im not giving it away
