it can be pretty differcult to buy a rebuilt motor without a core, your best bet is to look for somebody parting one out that you can buy a good whole motor from, and anything else you may need as well

Are you looking for a stock engine or a race engine? There are a few companies that make complete race engines. As far as stock I second Big Johns post. A part out or a damaged hull with good motor would be the cheapest wat to go.

Where are you located? This could help with recommending who could build it for you.

my honest opinion is to walk away, or keep looking for someone parting one out, as anyone on e-bay is going to trying to get top dollar, good luck !!!

Walk away as in it's not worth it? I just thought I could throw a motor in no problem but it seems that might not be so easy thanks guys

Since you've got all the parts, I'd recommend rebuilding it. If it was hydrolocked, the crank and rods are trashed if water was in there for any length of time. Was the the boat submerged, or was this the result of improper flushing? If the hull was submerged, there's a reasonable chance that the electrical stuff was damaged.

You can't buy a new engine from Kawasaki, they only sell parts. If you rebuild it, I'd recommend OEM parts. You certainly don't want to use SBT parts on that engine. Make sure you've got the nikasil plated cylinders and not sleeved cylinders. When you put it back together, make sure you put oil in the balance shaft bearings and be sure to replace the oil lines with polyurethane hose.

Sorry, I don't know who does a good job on the Kawasakis. Got a service manual? You can do it yourself. We can help.

I have rebuilt a handful of these engines, its not as hard as it may seem. But it can get costly quick. You might be better off parting out and finding a ski that is in running condition. Btw what year is the ski? That can determine how much just the hull is worth. I have seen an 03 with no engine and pump go for 1100 bucks on ebay.
