Access to YDS plug on VXR/VXS

Hello everyone I am in the market for a VXR/VXS. When to look at one today and getting to the YDS plugs under the gauges is a PITA. Is there another plug in the engine bay it can be hooked to? On my SX210 boat there are plugs under the dash and in the engine compartment.

Behind the front compartment divider is the plug for your dash. A 3 wire plug, that is your data port

Yes I got to the plug but is there an easy way to remove the white panel? We broke the plastic rivets holding it on.

first, you will prob never need to acces the dash plug to connect the yds, and secound is it sounds like you dont know how to remove the rivits, the secreat is to push the center in and pull the rivit out, then to reinstall them, you must push the center back out till the center stic ks out about 1/8 to 3/16th , pop the retaniner in the hole and push the center back in flush, i had the same problem the first time i tried to remove mine, so dont feel too bad

Thank you John, didn't know you could push the centers in to remove them. i knew there had to be an easy way. I am in the process of buying a used VXR/VXS so I want to scan it before I buy. Scanned the one I looked at today that ran like crap. Thought it was spark plugs but turned out to be throttle valve bad($671).

I sunk a new ski once and all that was bad was the TB...aside form the standard oil and batts
