you could stand to put 1 washer on each side of the leading edge of that plate and decrease the gap from transom to plate half the thickness...that little bit will surprise you. also AFTER you are set with everything then you can seal up all the voids that will give you a little more top end too.

Sounds good. I thought the wedge too but everyone claimed an extra 1.5 mph gain.

    Need more details.
What ski is this on? What plate is that? Looks like someone modified it? Who did the work? I see you have stock shims installed?

Maybe my other threads will help.

It's always best to do mods like that one at a time. I'd take the the wedge back off and get your ride plate tuned to how you like it, THEN try it with the wedge and see how your speeds react to it.

FZRs dont play well with the wedge.i had one for a while on my SHO but didnt like the handling so i took it off an dropped .5mph.take it off along with the plate spacers and re shim.

I don't see how a wedge can work
Stock nozzle is 5 deg and there is a 3 deg nozzle that is supposed to give good gains
And surely you are putting the wedge in to give even more angle to the 5 deg nozzle

Thought the 3 degree nozzle will slow your ski down more....it lowers the nose and makes more wetted surface on bottom....great for handling sucks for top speed? It took 1mph from me so I removed it

The ski is a 2012 Fzs, had the Ribbon delete, it's been reflashed, was an R&D plate modded by Island Racing, forgot what prop he stuck in there, R&D grate, Breather thing, C3 wheel, forgot what IC he put in... I was doing 82 last season but the plate and wedge brought me down to 79. And now just the other day the clutch went... His plates normally are pretty sick from all my other skis so I'm kinda thinking the wedge has something to do with it. Maybe even the fact the clutch was going?
