Please donít chase me away Iím not from Yamaha section

Please don’t chase away I’m not from the Yamaha section. At first I thought you guys at the kawi section are all rude but I understand it now because of all the lip you get from the Yamaha Guys. After I finished the hull of my Honda I took one of my friends with me for testing. And bang he is hooked on Jet Ski’s just like me. So we went to a reputable dealer that’snuts about jet ski’s he even races ski's in the states and Thailand maybe you guys have herd of him “Damon”. So we will only buy from his shop because all the skis are top notch! So the choices he has is a 2007 Kawi ultra 250, 2005 GP1300r with very low hours and in pristinecondition or a 2006 RXP. To be fair all of these skis are in excellent condition,so I really want to tell him to take the kawi but I thought I will come to the kawi section first for some advice on the ultra 250. So guys are there any major issues with the 250 or is it a good reliable ski that he will enjoy?

O and I forgot he wouldn't mind to do the extremely hard work of fogging the supercharger after every ride

Sorry to hear you were treated rudely! That's uncalled for from any group.

Wish I could help you with the choice, but I'm not really up on the 4-strokes. The supercharged engines all had problems in the early years. I would really suggest looking at the Kawi 310 series for greatly improved reliability.

As much as I would love to have him on an Ultra, honestly the 2007 250 had some known issues. Of the 3 skis mentioned as long as he is riding calm water I would choose the RXP. I like the GPR but with it being the 2 stroke that holds me back when a 4 stroke is an option. The RXP can be modified and is a blast to ride. The clutches and valves leaking compression I feel prematurely are the only issues I have with that one. If he can come across a 2010 Ultra 260 or a 300 hands down the Kawasaki.

Thanks for the reply guys I was just joking about the rude thing. I think if I was a Kawi owner I also would get irritated with every one bad mouthing Kawi and listening to how fast my Yamaha is! So if the head has been replaced with a 2010 model and the pump bearing updated is there anything else that is a major concern with the ultra 250? I really want him to get a ultra because I want to feel the holesot of the ultra!

Don't get me wrong, the 250 has a pretty good holeshot. But To feel the full thrill of the ultra holeshot try for a 300/310. The 250 is the best in the rough out of the choices you listed. The 250 does has some issues, though. The RXP may be your best choice if he'll ride on mostly smooth water if you can't find a 260 or 300.

That would surely bring the ultra up the list.

My ultra has been great too No issues but some people had em. After riding a 300 I'd tell him to get the 300. Over 240 reliable fun hours on mine. I updated to the 300 pump shaft and bearing set uP which was a known issue. Depends on the money he has to spend I know my next ski will be a 310. Like anything they evolve and get better but the old 250 is still fun as hell. The 250 only feels dated after u get off a 300 lol
