    Ultra 150 HIN Location.??

    Hi guys

During a race last summer i collided with another ski, and the rear was busted up pretty badly.

Problem is that the only piece left of the HIN tag is 'KA'

Is the HIN located elsewhere on the hull ?

I need it so i can order a new tag.

Kawasaki will absolutely not issue a new one (mine broke). However, there is another one under the battery. If there is a rubber pad, remove it to see the HIN plate.

I made a replacement for mine out of aluminum and painted it black to look original and installed it with plastic rivets from an auto body supply shop. You'd never know it wasn't original.

Hummm was wondering about this because sun has beaten mine up and it looks like its gonna crack
But really Plastic??? why not stainless so it will last

Actually, the plastic isn't even flat. It's got 'feet' on it and it's placed in the foot pad area where it can get stepped on. I suspect they make it easy to break so it's more difficult to swap it with another hull or something.

I bet it was more of a bean counter thing
theres still the "hidden" one and LEO has all the locations provided

I find this to be true with alot of equipment, like trailers etc
how long do they expect an tag printed with ink to last?

Don't know where this is going, but I've got a couple of trailers with printed labels that are just fine, one is 17 years old. I've got a couple of Kawis with plastic tags that are fine. The one on my Ultra broke after being stepped on.
