    Turbo for the Ultra 300/310

R&D will be releasing the Turbo here pretty soon for the 300/310 (not sure about other models). From the sounds of it, it will be after the race in Catalina Island in June. They are going to Race it and show it off there. It sounds like a 12-15MPH+ over all gain everywhere and it is switch controlled so you can shut it off and on as well. It sounds like it will be a lot less than the Yamaha Turbo, because our intercooler will not need to be upgraded as well as a few other parts that needed to be replaced on the Yamaha for the Turbo work correctly. The thing I like about it, it is a bolt on item that will work with your stock ski(no internal work necessary). I like that a lot, I don't want to do anything internal to my 310R. What are your thoughts? Going to get it? Look into it? Or just don't think it will be worth it? Any great info would be appreciated.

So you're saying 12-15mph more? That's around 85mph.... maybe with all the upgrades pistons rods, cams, intake, valves, springs, injectots, so thats a 20k kit just like the yami hahaha

H2Oxtreme said their turbo kit would put it around 88 mph with a precision turbo and some other upgrades. Sounds like R&D will be close to the H2O in performance.
Personally I'd like to have it but I can't race till 2015, so I'll hold off until then.

I am with Mike on this. Great to see this coming out but way out of my range. Will just keep running my Vortech on my open Ultra.

The 2014 LB2CAT is scheduled for July 20. A stock Ultra has won this race before and it could be done again.

It's always interesting to hear about these super fast Ultras. If R&D is involved likely I will get to straddle it. An Ultra doesn't need to go 85 mph to be a lethal weapon . . . it's lethal even at 75 mph. Good job R&D. JB

75 mph Ultra withe good rider equals serious threat. I would love to see what Klip's turbo SHO can handle rough seas. It looked like a great build at Lake Perris.

I was looking at the results of this last years Mark Hahn 300 just yesterday, I was surprised to see that Craig Warner's BEST/FASTEST lap was lap 4: 8:25.114 = 71.271mph average speed. Yes, I realize that includes all corners, etc, but, that was his BEST lap. I would have thought it would have been at least mid-70s. And we all recall how calm it was that day.

Let me also add my name to the list of those that appreciate R&D's efforts with the Ultra platform.
