09 oem flywheel bolts must read
So after almost 5 months of my ski sitting in the garage catching dust me and mike finally pulled the motor and started tearing her apart to see what was wrong. My ski is an 09 so i guess its supposed to have better flywheel bolts than prior models. Turns out i sheered all 6 bolts off the flywheel and started a chain reaction of destruction to my stator assembly, all my bearings, oil pumps, crank, and a few more things along the way.
SO basically here i am nearly 1000 dollars in parts later (and thats going the cheapest route possible).......all because of some stupid little fly wheel bolts.
please upgrade your fly wheel bolts to some ARPs everyone. A little money now will save your bank account alot later. Take it from me. I got plenty more pics of carnage but i figured this would be enough to get the point across lol.

My S3 broke the factory bolts. Have the same pile of junk as you. Now I install a new set of ARP bolts every time I tear it down.

I tried telling everyone that arp is the only way to go but some on here dont agree maybe this will sway their opinion lol.

I just did my S3 after 140hrs of ocean bashing and swinging to 8800rpm ...
But i have never seen the big ends scrub out from the flywheel ?
Seen an 2013 RXPX do it 2 times and found the fly wheel set up was out of balanced .. Highly recommend to have balanced if swinging it over 8500-8600 rpm ..

Maybe with larger wheels being used the next step would be to step up bolt size a mm or two. Has anyone tried it?
There should be room.

They are just shit bolts , if you keep them in stock form they are fine ..
Just go with the ARP bolts...
