    Welcome to the site.

Were do you ride? Salt water?

It is not uncommon for the wear ring, ( where your impeller resides) to "swell up" and hit the impeller blades. It happens more on machines that are in salt water, or stored in the water a lot.

The wear ring housing is aluminum, and the ring itself is stainless steel. Corrosion occurs between the two and makes the ring hit the impeller. The only fix is replacement.

Not sure where that is but my problem is the blades are hitting housing do you think it could be the coupler that is inside the engine compartment thanks for your input I will check out what you said ride in the rivers in pittsburgh and lake Chautauqua ny

As John stated, it is likely that the impeller wear ring has swollen. Need to remove the jet pump to inspect.....

    Welcome

See my signature links for info on removing and inspecting the jet pump. Look in the Jet Pump section.

Could also be bad pump bearings. The pump is self supporting. The engine coupler has nothing to do with it.
