    03 1300R concern....

I am a new owner of a 2003 1300R... bought the ski last year, took it to the lake couple times... Its been to the lake twice this summer, and I noticed that it is taking on some MAJOR water... runs like a bat out of hell, but its filling up at an alarming rate...

Ive done some troubleshooting and have come to the conclusion that its leaking somewhere around the intake grate on the under side of the ski... it looks like someone at some point in time had all of this apart, and did a sketchy job siliconing everything back together.... (plus I filled it up with water while on the trailer, and it leaks out from between the ride plate and intake grate.)

However, I also did some reading on the net, and found out that this ski had a recall for a pump bracket that was weak and would rip out of the hull causing damage... And, I cannot for the life of me find any indication that this was repaired under the recall...

what do I need to look for? im about to go start unbolting everything and inspect...

could this be the problem of the recall? or have the seals just come un-assed???

where would I find the bracket to fix this, if it hasn't been done already???? ive tried to do my searching, sorry if this angers the mods...

ok, now... do I need the reinforcement? or can I get away with just laying down some more glass on the tunnel??? I don't plan on getting crazy with mods and power...

also... mine isn't as bad as urs... but it is cracked and not allowing me to get the bots out... ive already dismantled the inside an exposed everything... can I just put a pair of vice grips on the other side and get these out without ripping them through the rest of the way... or cut it with a dremil and get new bolts.... then just patch and re-drill the holes.. with fiberglass..

im gonna order new brackets tomorrow morning and try to have it back together for memorial day weekend.... long shot.. and a long couple a nights ahead of me...

depends on how bad it's busted

    that was a customers boat

yes, vice grips on the top of the brackets wiil help get the bolts out

    pics would help

there is no fiberglass on your craft, and I would advise you to fix it correctly as I have has to re-repair a few DIY jobs here at my shop

im a good DIY-er.... I have seadoos, and am not a novice... however fiberglass/ body repair isn't my specialty... how would you patch it???... ill take pics tomorrow of the full damage once I ger the "middle plate" and brackets out... everything else came out clean... Im assuming im gonna have to completely remove the pump in order to do so... but I lost daylight, so it will have to wait till tomorrow.

you say that its not fiberglass...what would be used instead to patch this up?
