Yamaha GP1300r 2007 low topend speed

    Hi all

Last year I bought a US made 2007 GP1300R with 20 Houers on it. The problem I am having is the top speed: 59MPH on the display.
I live in norway, and the gass they have here is unleaded 95 and 98, but the 89 and 93 you have in the US. I filled my ski up with 98...I have read somthing about this might be to hige Ocate and a problem?
I have canged out the sparkplug to the model dislapyed on the enginee(dont remeber model name now), and the sparkplug gapp is about 0,9-1.0mm is that correct? what els could i check?

Thanks you all assistans on this issue and sorry for the baad english

regardless the type of fuel you are using , you need to perform one simple step , check compression , it will give you a idea was going on with your engine, if compression check ok [ it will need to be close to 130 psi] then you need to pay attention to the impeller and wear ring.

TY ok I will check comp. One thing I have notised is that when running low/mid speed (around 20 MPH) the ski Rols from side to side. This also happend alot if there is two people on the ski...any inputs on this??

    thanks

that is the nature of the gpr. not matter what you do to it , it will continue so. i kind of like it
get a good compression gauge, and check one cylinder at time, means living the spark plugs on the cylinders you are not checking and wide open throttle.

The yamaha manual states to remove all three spark plugs and then test one at a time with wide open throttle and a good battery charge.
You state to leave the other two plugs in, what is the correct method?

    450
    tie throttle open
    unplug servo motor (1200 pv)
remove 1 spark plug at a time
make sure battery is at full capacity

Ok, the compression test is done and I am close to 130 on all 3.
Testet it again and the ski tops out at 59-60..Could it be the norwegian Gasoline I am using? 98 ocate(its like 94-95 in US octane) Could it be a baad catalysator that is giving me this issue? I am not running on Yamalube but another high quality low smioke fully syntetic oil the seller requmented for me.what els could i check thinking about installing D-plate but I am not sure if I need the EFI controller..some peps say Yes and some says no...

I also have a 2007 GPR1300 that I bought new but now it has modifications.
20 hours is low so the catalytic converter should be ok but it will eventually fall apart so you want to install the D-Plate at some point.
If other than yamalube 2W oil is used with catalytic con then it could be partially clogged but not sure on that.
A stock 07 GPR1300 should do 65 mph on GPS which will be more then that on the display, I think like 72 or something.
Remove the intake grate and get your hand in there to feel the leading and trailing edges of the impeller for dings or damage.
Are there any mods on this ski or all stock?

No mods on the ski, 100% stock. On the display its 59MPH so its even slower I guess on a GPS I will try and remove the intake grate and see what I can find.. anything els? thanks for all help

The is damage to the Edge of the inpeller...i guess this explains my low speed. There is rough edges and two small pices missing. What kind og impeller do I buy?(stock ski) and is it hard to change out mysellf? The intake grate bolts are almost gone from rust..hope i Get it off( why have they used normal steel bolts?) thanks for good help
