engine cutting off
Have a 2002 XLT 1200 and have had it since new. First time in the water today for the season and four different times the engine cuts off while riding. no bogging down or hesitation it just cut out like the lanyard has been pulled. The dash reads start and it turns over right away and runs fine. any ideas of why it is randomly cutting off?

Mine did this this season(2003 XLT 1200) and after the 3rd time out and it cutting off 2 times it melted down the middle cylinder. So...may not be your problem,,, in fact i hope its not. But check your plugs to see if there is a lean condition. And if curious pull the heads off quick and take a peak at the top of the pistons(wont take but a few minutes to pull it off and put it back on.

Do a compression check on all 3 cylinders before tearing your engine apart.....if compression is fine,I would look into fuel delivery...
