ok battery good and when I push the start button I here the solenoid click
push it again and it may click or the starter engages
checked connections seem tight, fresh water and no corrosion
I hate electrical gremlins, where do I start
this is on a 03 gtx, thanks

solenoid in the starter is what you can hear?
you might need to check how much current the starter motor is pulling. i have seen the starter relay contact crap itself and whilst could hear it clickingz wasnt making enough contact to turn motor over. if u short it out, does it turn motor over?

if it engages it cranks and sounds normal
and it never makes any funny sounds
I thought the starter solenoid/relay was on the side of the fuse box
so there is a relay and a solenoid?

yes, on my 04 rxp, its the brown plastic thing on the mpem where the fuses are. big thick cable goes to one side, then to starter motor i think. will get a pic if my phone can get in there.
so its not starting whilst turning over?

solenoid is going out...BUT check all your connections too just to be sure...
This is a common problem with Sea-doos...

check for corrosion on terminals inside the brown plastic housing. had a rxt with similar problems. wires were corroded to shit where it was crimped

On the battery, the copper inside the wire insulation was completely corroded. Just after the crimped connections.
Had to cut the wire to see how bad it was inside.
This was on both wires, positive & negative.
Sometimes start, sometimes only 'click'.
